The why

Built to put your budget where it matters

Snowball Productions exists because of one photographer. Her audience called her the best in her field; Google acted like she did not exist, and the industry that promised to fix it quoted thousands a month for work nobody would prove. We founded the company in January 2024 to build the alternative, and her site became client zero. That story is published in full, data included, as our first case study.

Because we kept hearing the same thing. Organisation after organisation told us they could not afford professional quality content for their business, because they were already paying upwards of five, and often more than ten thousand dollars a month, on SEO. They were left with depleted funds and no way to make the content their audience actually craved, right as social media and the content-driven community were taking over.

That never sat right with us. Traditional SEO was draining the very budgets that should have been funding creative work that resonates. So we set out to change the maths: use technology to do the heavy lifting, strip out the overhead, and free that money for content people genuinely want to watch, read and share.

We came at it with form. Having helped bring AI into Australia back in 2017 to support financial services institutions through the Royal Commission into misconduct, we already knew technology could carry work that used to cost a fortune in hours. We knew there was a better way.

Anthony Betzis

Founder, Snowball Productions

For more than twenty years, I have worked at the intersection of technology, data and commercial strategy across the software and financial services industries. My career began in software development and interactive game design before expanding into CAD, product development, product lifecycle management and enterprise data systems and governance. Following the global financial crisis, I helped financial institutions automate complex processes and, in 2017, introduced a Natural Language Processing (NLP) AI system to strengthen regulatory controls following the Banking Royal Commission.

The final push was personal. The woman I would go on to propose to, a maternity photographer her audience had already crowned the best in the country, was invisible on Google, and the providers queueing up to fix it wanted $2,000 to $5,000 a month for promises none would stand behind. I offered them double their contract value to prove what they were selling. Nobody accepted. Snowball Productions was founded in January 2024, and her site became client zero, the proving ground for everything we now do. That story is published in full as The First Client.

Throughout that journey, one thing became increasingly clear: businesses were investing enormous budgets into SEO and digital marketing, yet too little of that investment was flowing back into the content and storytelling that truly builds brands.

Snowball Productions was created to change that. By combining proprietary AI-driven analytics with creative production, we use technology to do the heavy lifting, uncovering exactly what audiences are searching for and where opportunities exist. That allows our clients to invest more into exceptional content, stronger digital experiences and meaningful brand growth, rather than simply paying for the privilege of being found.
